The Railway Cafe

Work on the Sea Lion Rocks Cafe commenced in 2001, and the building was officially opened in 2003. The cafe is open when trains are running during the Easter and Summer season. The cafe is entirely run and staffed by volunteers who provide hot drinks, light snacks and even ice cream on a warm summer day. A cup of hot chocolate proved very popular last summer with holiday makers and locals before taking the last train of the evening to Lhen Coan. The cafe is usually well stocked with souvenirs, sweets and cool drinks. Click to view picitures of the cafe building project.

The Station Shop

A small shop can be found on the platform at Lhen Coan station. Along with the usual train related souvenirs quality new ranges of ‘Thomas the Tank’ and ‘Ivor the Engine’ goods have been introduced to cater for demand from our younger visitors. Garden railway modellers using Gauge 1, 16mm NG, or G scale will be pleased to find the full ranges of locos, stock and track from Accucraft and Peco available at very keen prices. Due to space restrictions not everything in the garden railway range can be on display all the time, but can always be seen at www.Track-Shack.com the on-line shop run by volunteer John Boyes.
