Sea Lion Celebrates 110 Years in 2006
T

To mark the railway's 110th anniversary a weekend of special events was held on the 22nd and 23rd July 2006. On the 22nd Richard and Ronnie Broadbent, greatgrandchildren of Richard Maltby Broadbent (who developed the glen as a tourist attraction in the latter end of the 19th century), cut a special birthday cake. Sea Lion and battery electric Polar Bear provided a two train service for the day. On the 23rd a special gala day saw all five serviceable locomotives operate. It provided a rare opportunity to ride behind the railway's two diesel locomotives Dolphin and Walrus.
